The HFW2431S-S-S2 displays images in a Full HD 2688×1520 resolution. The camera has 120 dB Wide Dynamic Range (WDR), which allows the camera to handle complex lighting conditions very well, such as backlight from the sun or car headlights. The camera sensor has Starlight Technology, making it ideal for applications with challenging lighting conditions.

Due to the very light-sensitive image sensor, the camera delivers usable color images with a minimum of ambient light, even in almost complete darkness (0.008 lux). The camera has a built-in automatic IR-cut filter and is therefore a real day/night camera. In dark conditions, the camera can switch on the built-in IR lighting, so that even in complete darkness (0 Lux) a razor-sharp image is available. The IR lighting has a range of no less than 30 meters.
The camera features a fixed 2.8mm lens with a horizontal angle of view of 102 degrees.

Images can be stored on a Network Video Recorder (NVR). The camera also has the ability to record in the camera on a microSD memory card up to 256Gb.

Dahua has a free Dutch app available for Apple iOS and Android. The camera has an internal web server that can be viewed and managed with a web browser. Free Video Management Software (VMS) for a computer can be downloaded from the Dahua website. Under the tab “Documentation” a link to the product page of the manufacturer is included.

The HFW2431S-S-S2 has an IP67 rating, making it ideal for outdoor use. For ease of installation, the camera can be powered via the network cable with Power over Ethernet (standard 802.3af POE). PoE can be obtained through a PoE NVR, a PoE switch or with a PoE injector. The camera can also be powered with an optional 12VDC power adapter. The camera is adjustable over 3 axes.
